What's in our yard?

Here is a quiz to see if you can match...
Tomato plant, Jasmine, Blue plumbago, Penta, Zinnia, Ixora, Gladiola... (this might be a tricky game because I'm guessing on the spelling)

We have had fun planting all different kinds of things. The tomato plant does not look impressive, but I did have 2 tomatoes on it, one pretty large and red, but I wanted it to ripen a tiny bit more on the vine...well, a squirrel beat us to it. :) (the kids were extremely disappointed about this, even though none of them like tomatoes, they all wanted to eat it.)

I especially have loved the plentiful wildlife here in an undeveloped neighborhood. We see all kinds of beautiful birds... cardinals, blue jays, wood peckers, hummingbirds (my favorite!) You already know we see all kinds of insects, so I won't even go there, and we have seen an assortment of snakes, probably enough to write a small encyclopedia about.

Dancing in the Rain

My sweet Lily wanted to twirl and dance in the rain. When you have rain boots that cute, you should put then on as soon as there is a storm cloud!!!

Of course, I let her fulfill this 5 minute indulgence. It has been raining quite a bit this past month, so why not?

Zilpher Park

We went to visit my parents in Austin the week after school got out, and I'm just now realizing I never downloaded those pictures... a MEMORY FULL message was greeting me on my camera. So, here are a few shots.

We did get to do a ton of fun things. Highlights include...going on a walk with Grandma and seeing a deer, going to Zilpher Park and doing the Dino dig, exploring the room full of bones and things (at the park), canoing with Papa and watching all of the fish and turtles and the snake like Jaws (it was following us with vengeance), and having Papas homemade fish sticks that were SO delicious. We also did have a long day at San Marcos, which was a highlight for me, but I'm pretty sure the kids would disagree.

Thanks to Mom and Dad for a great vacation while Jeff was out of town!
