Carnivals and Candy, and candy, and candy...

(Notice the purple hair, this is the same purple hair gel I experimented with the week I was having a mid-life crisis...)
Tyler and his best buddy Heath, funny thing is, this doesn't look too unusual, they're always playing dress up with pirate stuff.

Two little witches, aren't they cute?

The Texas cousins!

So, as if trick-or-treating wasn't enough candy to ruin my kids appetites for the next 2 weeks... now we are adding trunk-or-treat to the mix too!

Don't get me wrong, I love all of the fun, especially getting to see everyone in costume, but I'm just not a fan of all the candy. Candy is not really my thing. I'd rather have a decadent dessert than a piece of candy bar, but as soon as that bag of Halloween candy is opened... I'm all over. And all of my hard work at the gym is out the door. I think instead of buying candy I actually want to eat, I should buy the nasty fruiti-tuitti kind I don't like.

Anyway, so aside from all of the candy, we had a fabulous time at the carnival! Lots of carnival games, plenty of candy, trinket toys, good friends, fun face-paints, cousins... what else could you possibly ask for?

Love the witch costume! Did Brooklyn's mom make it or do I even need to ask?

Janelle, Lily's dress turned out adorable! Your kids look so cute. It makes me wish my kids were there too! I have been going crazy with all the candy too, and it is not even Halloween yet! I read somewhere that you have your kids pick out a few of their favorite pieces and then you leave the rest out for the "Great Pumpkin" when they go to sleep. The "Great Pumpkin" leaves a little gift for each child. Sounds like a good idea to me!

I can totally relate about the candy! This year I decided to buy the "fruity" kind of candy and it has helped me avoid eating it myself. And then I put the kids' good candy (from the trunk or treat) on the top shelf of the pantry, so nobody can get to it easily. :)
