Brooklyn is on swim team this year for the first time. At first I felt sorry for her, because she's the very youngest one on her team because of her birthday, she missed the younger team by a few weeks... So, she was obviously a little inexperienced compared to some of the girls who were almost 2 years older than her. And the first few meets she would have to hold onto the rope during the race to catch her breath.
WELL, things have changed. I don't know when it happened, if something inside her snapped, and she remembered that she likes to win, or if she just needed that extra practice, but she has been doing so great. We are SO proud of her! In fact, today she won her race for freestyle! She was so fast, I couldn't believe it was her. She is definitely built like a swimmer, so that helps, but you have to have the power and strength too, which she has been building up. We're just thrilled to see her improving. She went from doing the length in just over a minute to 36 seconds. WOW!!! Go Otters!!!

Wow! Brooklyn looks so adorable. I am glad she likes swimming! If she keeps it up she may be in the Olympics someday!!
Swim Teams are so much fun! I did it for a summer and I loved it! My younger brother does it too and he loves it, although right now in Seattle it is not the best swimming weather. My mom had to basically wear her winter coat at his last practice!
I think that's why swim team is popular in Texas, here you're wearing shorts from Feb through October... makes for good swimming!
Go Otters! I still can't get over how much Brooklyn looks like you, Janelle. Good luck at the next meet, Brooklyn!
Wow, go Brooklyn! What a fast swimmer! Glad she is enjoying it, too!
Way to go Brooklyn!
